This course adheres to and fulfills the requirements outlined in Regulation I/12, Section A-I/12, Code B-I/12 of the STCW Convention as amended in 2010, and IMO Model Course 1.22 - Ship Handling and Bridge Team Work, including all additional criteria specified in the STCW Convention applicable to the issuance of the certificate.

• Passage Planning: Prepare and execute a detailed passage plan.

• Resource Utilization: Achieve the best use of available resources for the safe navigation of the ship.

• Navigational Emergencies: Respond effectively to navigational emergencies.

• Ship Maneuvering: Effectively interpret a ship's maneuvering data.
Course Content:

• Familiarization: Effective management of bridge team resources.

• Passage Planning: Routes, waypoints, and detailed planning.

• Bridge Procedures: Bridge team concept, functional bridge team operations, checklists, and logs.

• Ship Handling: Use of maneuvering data, vessel hydrodynamics, engine controls, anchor handling, navigation in restricted visibility, and heavy weather.

• Watchkeeping Conditions: Watch augmentation, changes, management of work, and rest periods.

• Effective Communications: Confirmation and application of information among bridge team members.

• Pilot Integration: Integrating the pilot into the bridge team.

• Situational Awareness: Error-trapping, reassessment of priorities, resource allocation, and use of bridge systems and equipment.

• Leadership: Maintaining bridge discipline, vigilance, positioning, and watchkeeping personnel.

• Emergency Response: Handling failures of critical components in the integrated navigation system and managing the incapacity of bridge team members.
