Scope:
This course is designed to meet the requirements of Rule VI/2, Section A‐VI/2 Paragraphs 5‐8 Table A‐VI/2‐2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, STCW 1978, as amended.
Goals:
The participant must ensure training, attitude and ability to take charge of a fast rescue boat during and after launching as required in the Table A‐VI/2‐2 of the STCW as well as chapter VI, Section A‐VI/2‐2. Additionally participants must know how to use the fast rescue boat for rescue and recovery of victims at sea.
Prerequisites
For admission to the sailors of the course must be medically fit and hold a certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than rescue boats in accordance with regulation VI/2, paragraph 1 of the STCW Convention 1978 as amended.
